1205CXB Time Domain Reflectometer (Runtime Tester // Cable Radar)
The 1205CXB is the successor to the well-known “RB1205CXA” and stands out due to its simple and logical device layout. All controls required for measurement are easily accessible with the fingers. In the “foreground menu” of the user interface, all essential measurement parameters are immediately available. The operator can decide whether an internal algorithm for first-fault detection should be used or whether their own measurement experience should take precedence. You determine which “threshold” and from which “fault size” changes in a cable section become relevant.
The extremely low-noise measurement amplifier, as well as the option for automatic or manual placement of the two position cursors, simplifies fault localization. Naturally, the 1205CXB again relies on excellent display and automatic calculation of return loss (dBRL). Via the multifunction USB port, the device can be charged or measurement data can be exported as BMP and/or BTR files. A permanent internal memory for up to 500 measurement traces is also available.
To evaluate stored measurement data later (e.g., in the office) or to create a report for internal use or for customers, the new “WaveView” software for PC is available. It is intuitive and easy to operate.
