ES1

The ES1 is a safety aid that eliminates the need for dangerous hammering when unlocking manhole covers or lids blocked by inactivity, rust, scale or deformation.

Hammering can be risky – causing splinter projection, spark generation (particularly hazardous over gas or petrochemical pipelines), or even cracking brittle cast-iron covers.
The ES1 is designed to be used together with a suitable ITALIFTERS clamp: insert the clamp into the catch latch and secure it to the adjustable drag of the cover release tool.

By turning the screw clockwise, a strong upward force is applied that breaks through incrustations and lifts the lid slightly, allowing it to be fully opened later with standard lifting systems.
The lifting screw is operated by inserting a screwdriver or lever into the top ring; the pivot point rests firmly outside the frame on a small metal plate, providing a stable base and preventing the screw foot from sinking into asphalt.
