Multifunction Wall Locator PK2
Drilling point locator and
Wall cable detector
With the drilling hole locator PK2, live electrical installations and ferromagnetic metals embedded in walls and floors can be precisely located. Whether floor or wall – with the PK2, drill holes can be positioned exactly where they are intended to exit.
The PK2 consists of two devices: a transmitter and a receiver. With this device combination, drilling points can be determined through wall thicknesses of up to 130 cm.
How it works
First, use the transmitter to scan the area where a hole is to be drilled. Hold the device directly against the wall or floor and scan the area in a grid pattern. An LED indicator for electrical current, marked with a lightning symbol, and an indicator for metals, marked with an I-beam symbol, each display the strength of the detected signal with 5 (five) red LEDs.
If there are no installations beneath the handheld transmitter**, the indicator LEDs remain off. The transmitter is then attached to the wall using a lightly adhesive strip mounted on the back.
Finally, move to the other side of the wall and use the receiver to locate the transmitter attached to the wall. With the help of LED arrow indicators showing the direction in which the receiver must be moved, the exact position of the transmitter can be determined. A built-in distance display indicates the wall thickness in cm.
Once you are satisfied with the drilling point position, simply start drilling!
** The displayed signal strength depends on the installation depth of ferromagnetic components and electrical cables. Non-live or inactive electrical cables can only be detected with difficulty or not at all by the PK2.
