NanoSonde MPL4-33
The NanoSonde from Vesala is a newly developed solution for the calibration of fiber optic microduct pipes. It is currently the smallest transmitter on the market. It is designed for microduct pipes with an inner diameter of 6mm or more.
Technical Specifications
The probe has a diameter of 4.6mm and a length of 94mm. The NanoSonde is flexible in the middle and can pass bends with a minimum radius of 170mm. The maximum locating depth of the probe in plastic pipes is 2.3m. The probe becomes active only after inserting the battery and can operate for up to 9 hours, depending on temperature conditions. The NanoSonde features an M3.5 thread (female) and is rated IP67 / IK02.
Note: The MicroSonde is waterproof only up to 0.5 bar.
Microduct Calibration with the NanoSonde
Before the probe is blown into the microduct pipe, the supplied shock absorber for 6mm microduct pipes must be installed. After installation, the probe can be blown into the pipe. If the probe passes through the pipe without any issues, the pipe has been successfully calibrated. If it gets stuck, the probe can be located using a cable locator and repaired at the specific point. Calibration can then be repeated.
A shock absorber for 8mm microducts is also available but not included in the scope of delivery. ``
