Titan-Alu® manhole cover lifter
The ergonomic Titan-Alu® manhole cover lifter allows even hard-to-open manhole covers and caps to be opened. Whether they are rusty or have not been opened for decades, the Titan-Alu makes it possible to open all standard manhole covers and caps with just a few simple steps. Make your work easier. Discover Titan-Alu: the helpful tool for everyone who works with manhole covers for sewers as well as oil separator, gas, water or cable manhole covers.
The problem is well known: a manhole cover will not open. For hours, a hammer and rust remover have been used in an attempt to loosen the cover – without success. With the Titan-Alu, such manhole covers can be loosened quickly and efficiently with just a few simple movements.
How the Titan-Alu works
Function of the hook
The hook can be rotated in all directions, its length can be adjusted and it can be fixed in the desired position using a knurled nut.
Positioning the Titan-Alu
The hook is hooked either into the handhold recess or into a vent hole of the cover. If necessary, the hook is turned to the side and hooked in laterally.
To use the Titan-Alu, the cover must have an opening or handhold recess at the edge into which the hook can be engaged.
The correct leverage
To achieve the correct leverage, the lever is aligned in the longitudinal direction towards the centre of the cover after hooking in and pulled back until the hexagonal foot is outside the cover. Then the lever handle is pressed down firmly, loosening the cover with the help of leverage.
Opening
Next, the lever is pushed forward until both supports rest on the cover. The supports are then tightened firmly using the star grips to create a solid connection between the manhole cover and the “Titan-Alu” manhole cover lifter.
When closing, you will notice how easily the cover can now be lifted, pulled, pushed and rotated.
Extreme conditions
Under extreme conditions and with particularly heavy covers, it is recommended to work with two lifters.
