Tx-10 Transmitter
The Tx family of signal transmitters is based on a fully digital platform and was designed to complement Radiodetection’s advanced precision locators, including the RD7000, RD7100, RD8000, and RD8100 series. The Tx series was developed to meet the requirements of locating or tracing utility lines in today’s complex underground infrastructure. The transmitter series features locating frequencies that are compatible with all series of Radiodetection precision locators and can be easily adapted to the receiver of your choice using the “Model” function. All transmitters maintain constant current across their full bandwidth in all modes (direct connection, clamp, or induction mode) and offer on-site convenience with IP65 protection, a removable accessory compartment, and a large, high-contrast backlit LCD screen.
Available Transmission Methods
INDUCTIVE
The Tx transmitter has an internal antenna that induces a signal onto the line(s) located directly beneath the device. This is useful when the line is not easily accessible. Typically, the induction mode is only effective down to a depth of 2 m. Note that the induction mode couples its signal indiscriminately onto all conductors within its transmission field.
DIRECT (Galvanic) Connection
Direct connection is an effective method for applying the Tx locating signal to a specific cable or pipe network so that it can be traced above ground. The connection can be made to any metallic part of the pipe or cable, such as valves, meters, junction boxes, streetlights, pipeline markers, or other access points.
APPLICATIONS
Tx-1 Transmitter
The Tx-1 is a low-power signal transmitter.
Tx-5 Transmitter
The Tx-5 provides increased power and higher induction capability, as well as Fault Find (sheath fault locating).
Tx-10 Transmitter
The Tx-10 offers the highest output power and includes Fault Find (sheath fault locating) and CD (Current Direction) mode as standard.
