GENNY4
The new Genny4 from Radiodetection features a unique dual-signal design, enabling it to transmit simultaneously at 131 kHz and 33 kHz. In addition to its standard power mode, the Genny4 also includes a signal boost function that increases the output signal by up to 10 times, allowing locating over greater distances and depths. When used in combination with the C.A.T4 family, Radiodetection offers an unbeatable solution for locating utilities that can no longer be traced passively. The Genny4 is extremely robust and designed for simplicity. Its internal storage compartment provides space for various connection leads, ground stake, and accessories. The Genny4 is compatible with all older Genny3 accessories.
Available transmission methods
INDUCTIVE
The Genny4 has an internal antenna that induces a signal onto the utility line(s) directly beneath the unit. This is useful when the line is not directly accessible. Typically, the induction mode is effective to a depth of up to 2 m. Please note that in induction mode, the signal is coupled indiscriminately to all conductors within the transmission area.
DIRECT (galvanic) connection
Direct connection is an effective method of applying the Genny4 locating signal to a specific cable or pipe network so that it can be traced from above ground. The connection can be made to any metallic part of the pipe or cable, such as valves, meters, distribution boxes, streetlights, pipeline markers, or other accessible points.
