Take-back and disposal
SEMPERDEAL (CfT Group GmbH) supplies electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and rechargeable batteries to businesses, public bodies and professionals. This page explains how to dispose of waste equipment, waste batteries and packaging correctly and how to return them to us.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the equipment must not be disposed of with unsorted waste after use. Waste electrical and electronic equipment is collected separately so that hazardous substances are treated properly and raw materials are recycled. This also applies to equipment used in a business.
- Remove batteries and lamps: If the equipment contains batteries or lamps that can be removed without destroying them, take them out before returning it and return them separately.
- Delete data: If the equipment stores data (for example recordings, measurements or locations), delete any personal data before returning it. As the user, you are responsible for this.
- Returning: Hand in waste equipment at a collection point or to a waste management company, or send it back to us for disposal (address below). We take care of the disposal.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries
Waste batteries must not be disposed of with unsorted waste. As an end-user you are legally required to return them separately, to a collection point or a distributor. This also applies if you buy as a business. Batteries may contain heavy metals and other hazardous substances that harm soil, water and health if disposed of incorrectly. Separately collected waste batteries are treated and recycled in permitted facilities.
- Returning: Hand in waste batteries at a collection point, to a distributor or to a waste management company, or send them back to us (address below). We take back waste batteries free of charge. Please send lithium batteries only after contacting us, because dangerous goods rules apply to their shipment.
- Returning lithium batteries safely: Tape the terminals with insulating tape or put each battery in a separate plastic bag. Do not open, damage or heat batteries. Keep damaged, swollen, hot or leaking batteries separately in a non-combustible container, do not send them by post and contact us first. Lithium batteries in unsorted waste or recycling bins can cause fires.
- Use them longer: Charge and store rechargeable batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions; this extends their life.
What the symbols on batteries mean:
- Crossed-out wheeled bin: collect separately, do not dispose of with unsorted waste.
- “Pb” below the bin: the battery contains more than 0.004 % lead.
- “Cd” below the bin: the battery contains more than 0.002 % cadmium.
