With the RD7XXX cable locator, you are hiring a high-performance locating system for the reliable localisation of cables, pipes and probes – offering flexibility for projects where purchasing a device is not cost-effective. The RD7200 series devices combine precise location with fast fieldwork. Below is an overview of the key features.
Locating functions
Peak+™ Mode
Accuracy combined with speed: Combine the precision of peak detection with the rapid site surveying provided by the direction arrows in the new Peak+™ mode. With a single press of a button, you can check for distortions by directly comparing the zero and peak readings.
Power Filters™
Locating and distinguishing between power cables: If a signal transmitter cannot be connected, tracking individual power lines in complex networks presents a real challenge. Conflicting or powerful signals become entangled or overlap, creating a flood of signals.
At the touch of a button, the harmonics of the 50Hz signal from power lines are utilised to distinguish whether a signal originates from a single source or from multiple cables, which you can then trace and mark.
TRUDEPTH™
Indicates the depth at which the locating receiver is correctly aligned directly above the target cable, pipe or probe for the most accurate location.
StrikeAlert™
StrikeAlert warns users of potential shallowly buried cables and conduits (insufficient cover), in both Power and Active Line modes. Whilst regulations and guidelines consistently require power cables to be laid below a certain depth, unexpectedly shallowly buried cables are a common cause of cable strikes.
Fault Find (Sheath Fault Detection)
Combine your RD7200 receiver with a frame antenna (accessory) to pinpoint insulation faults in shielding or insulated pipework to within 10 cm.
Maintenance and Calibration
Maintenance due indicator and CALSafe™
The risks of delaying a location scan because an RD7200’s calibration has expired can be minimised. RD7200 series devices feature a 30-day countdown to the expiry date of the calibration certificate. The optional CALSafe function can be set to prevent the device from being used once the calibration has expired. This ensures compliance with company policies. Furthermore, the maintenance interval can be customised for each user over a one-year period using the C.A.T Manager software.
eCert™
eCert enables a quick and thorough check of the key circuit elements within the RD7200 and validates their performance via the internet against the original factory calibration.
eCert™ is activated via the C.A.T Manager software and provides a quick, thorough and convenient test of the central location circuit within the RD7200, validating the instrument’s performance against the original factory calibration. Following an eCert test run, a calibration certificate from Radiodetection for the relevant RD7200 can be printed or saved.
In addition, the C.A.T Manager can, on request, reproduce the original factory calibration certificate or any eCert certificate issued for the unit.
As part of a comprehensive maintenance package, Radiodetection also offers extensive factory-based after-sales service and recalibration options, including a full inspection of mechanical integrity and functional testing.
